Check out what’s happening at Brownridge…

25 Jan

Wishing our Brownridge families a Happy Chinese New Year.

Yesterday,  staff from Vaughan Secondary School came to speak with our grade 8 students. High school Registration forms were given to student to take home. They are due back to Brownridge on Tuesday, January 28. Also, secondary school transfers are due to the high school by January 31. Any questions? Please let us know.

Our new Play Leader program is up and running. Students in grade 5 and 6 are running structured activities for students in grades 1-3 outside at recess. Students meet at the south school wall by a pylon at the beginning of recess and listen to which games are being played along with the instructions on how to play them. Thanks to Ms. Cicione for organizing and supporting this opportunity!

On January 28 students in grades 3-8 will participate in a presentation about Harriet Tubman. Thank you to school council for providing funds to make this happen.

On January 29, students in grades 2-4 and 5-8 will participate in workshop hosted by Youthspeak. The presentation will focus on mental well-being, wellness, coping strategies and having a voice.

Friday, January 31 is PA Day. There is no school for students.

SAVE THE DATE- Thursday, February 27 at 7pm. School Council has organized a presentation for parents called “A Simple Gift- Emotional Regulation”. Join us in the Brownridge library to hear about strategies to support our children.
