Things to Know at Brownridge

19 Jan

Good afternoon everyone! We hope you are staying warm on this wintery weekend! Here are some things to know:

  1. Brownridge PS, along with all elementary schools in the YRDSB, is closed on Monday, January 20 because elementary school teachers will be conducting a one day strike. School will resume on Tuesday, January 21.

  2. Join us on Monday, January 20 for our School Council Meeting at 6:30pm in the library. Come with ideas in which School Council can engage in/participate in to make Brownridge your home away from home!

  3. Students in grades 6,7 and 8 will be participating in the Values, Influences and Peers program (VIP) over the next few weeks.

  4. On Wednesday, January 29, students will participate in Youth Speak presentations. The focus of the presentations is Mental Health and Wellness. Coping in the face of adversity is a necessary skill. Youth Speak will engage students in self-awareness and opportunities to gain a better understanding about Mental Health.

  5. Friday, January 31 is a PA Day. There is no school for students.

  6. Save the Date- School Council has organized a presentation for parents and guardians. On Thursday, February 27, join us at 7pm in the Brownridge Library for a presentation called “A Simple Gift- Emotional regulation”. More details to follow.
