BRING A BOOK/TAKE A BOOK- PROMOTING A LOVE OF LITERACY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH AT BROWNRIDGE

BRING A BOOK/TAKE BOOK- We have an exciting literary/community outreach opportunity that will be happening at Brownridge on April 5th. Brownridge School Council is launching a “Bring a Book, Take a Book” initiative to support literacy, inclusivity and community outreach at Brownridge.

Here are the details:

1) Every student in Brownridge is invited to bring in books from home that they no longer read/use.
2) During the day on Friday, April 5th, classes will be called to the book tables where EACH student will be able to choose a free book to take home.
3) Students are also invited to purchase additional books for 50¢ each.
4) All monies raised will be donated to charity and all remaining books will be donated to four or five charities that are in need of books.

More info to know:
A) Each student at Brownridge will be able to take a free book home.
B) Barb Rabin, one of our school social workers, has been speaking with classes about the “Bring a book, Take a book” initiative and discussing how it connects to kindness, giving and inclusivity related to charity and those in need.
C) On the day of the “Bring a Book, Take a Book”, books will be displayed on tables for students to choose from.

Please send in books with your child at your earliest convenience!
