Information Update from Brownridge

20 Apr

Good evening Brownridge, here is some info to know!

  1. Brownridge Move-a-thon- The Brownridge Move-a-thon is taking place on May 8. This will be one of the school’s biggest fundraisers that we are very excited about. Students will have chances to win many awesome prizes that they will learn about on Monday at our kick-off assembly. More information will be shared soon with families.
  2. Please remember to send in a family photo with your child. Our Brownridge Family Tree (located in the front foyer) is looking amazing. We would like each student and family represented on the family tree. Our goal is for each and every student at Brownridge to say, “I belong here.”
  3. Performance Series- This Tuesday, students in grades K-6 will experience CADENCE, Canada’s premiere vocal group. Based in Toronto, this a cappella ensemble has been wowing audiences across the country and around the world for nearly 20 years. Whether performing at sold-out jazz clubs and concert halls, at music festivals, for educational outreach, or for corporate functions, the members of Cadence bring an infectious energy and uncanny verve to every song they sing.
  4. Town Hall at Maple High School- Come have a voice and hear what’s happening as the vision for the YRDSB is being defined. Join parents, families and community members on April 25 at Maple High School at 6:30pm. Check for more info.
  5. Athletics- The Junior Girls Basketball team is playing hard and exhibiting great sportsmanship and teamwork. Their area tournament is next week. Good luck, girls! Our Junior Boys Basketball team played amazingly well at the area tournament this week. They exhibited great teamwork and made Brownridge proud! Our intermediate badminton team is practicing and ready to take on the world. Good luck to them at their upcoming tournament. Thanks to our awesome coaches for taking time to motivate and inspire our students.
