Brownridge PS. Updates

22 Mar

Hello Brownridge Families! Here are some Brownridge updates:

  1. The Brownridge Fun Fair is now happening on Tuesday, June 5 from 5:30-8:00. It is going to be epic so save the date and bring your friends and family to what is going to be a wonderful community event.
  2. Funfair request: Are you a business owner? Do you work for a company that can donate a prize or gift certificate for our silent auction? If yes, that would be much appreciated and amazing.  Please email Brownridge.funfair@gmail.com to let us know. (We will also need volunteers the night of and if anyone thinks they can help that would be so great)
  3. In honour of Earth Hour on March 24, Brownridge PS will be turning off the lights in the hallways and classrooms on March 23 from 1:30-3:00 to let our students know that even a small act can have a big impact.
  4. Our Character Assembly is on Monday, March 26. Students who are receiving certificates should be bringing home an envelope today inviting parents to celebrate with them.
  5. “I BELONG HERE”- Look out for information coming home soon supporting equity and inclusivity at Brownridge. There are some AWESOME initiatives happening in the building. Our goal is that every student says, “I belong here!” and feels part of the Brownridge family.
  6. SPIRIT DAY- Wear your SPORT JERSEY OR TEAM JERSEY on Thursday, March 29.
  7. Autism Awareness Day- Along with the rest of the YRDSB, we will be participating in Autism Awareness Day on Tuesday, April 3. We are asking all students and staff to wear blue to recognize this important day. We are also asking students to bring in a loonie or toonie to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
  8. There is no school on March 30 (Good Friday) or April 2 (Easter Monday).
  9. Hot lunches begin on Monday, April 9th.
  10. Brownridge Public School is pleased to announce that we will be using an online process through Edsby for Attendance starting on Tuesday March 27, 2018. Regular and punctual attendance affects school success and is expected of all students. However, if your child is going to be absent, it is important to let the school know as soon as possible for the safety and security of your child. Have an #AWESOME day!
