Welcome Back!!

1 Sep

Hello Brownridge PS families!

We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing summer. We are very excited that school is just around the corner.

I would like to welcome new families and returning families to Brownridge PS. My name is Joe Gold and I am the new Principal at Brownridge PS. I am thrilled to be joining the Brownridge family and look forward to getting to know all of you.

School begins on Tuesday, September 5th. Supervision begins at 8:25am. Staff will be meeting and greeting students grades 1 to 8 on the tarmac at the back of the school. SK students will meet their teachers in the kindergarten pen.  Posters with grade numbers will be posted on the school wall. We ask that students find their grade number. Then students should listen for their name as teachers read out their class lists.

Students in JK will be joining their classes at 1:30pm. This is a very exciting time for them as they enter school for the first time. We understand this can be bittersweet for parents. Rest assured we are here to help them feel safe and welcomed for their first school experience. Please bring your JK children to the kindergarten pen on the east side of Brownridge just past the YMCA.

 End of day procedures:

Students on Buses

At the end of the day, students in Kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2 will be escorted to their buses by school staff. Students from grade 3-8 who take the bus home will be informed of their bus number by staff. They will make their way to their bus at the end of the day where staff will be available to support.

YMCA

Students in Kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2 who attend the YMCA will be escorted from their classroom to the YMCA. Students in other grades who attend the YMCA will make their way to the YMCA at the end of the day.

Parent Pick up

If you are picking up your child, please pick them up at the exit door appropriate to their grade.

As you know, the first day can be a little hectic. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure that students are made to feel comfortable as they find their class.

Have an awesome long weekend and we will see you Tuesday.

 Joe Gold, Principal
