Lunch Time Programs

Brownridge School Council is happy to announce that lunch time programs are here!

The weather is getting cold so we figured the winter season was the perfect time to start it up.

Lunch time programs will run from 12:40pm-1:20pm.

Please note – that we will need a minimum of 15 children to run the sessions.

Ensure you register ASAP, it will be a first come first serve.

Should the class not get the minimum enrollment we will have to cancel, you will receive ALL your money back.
Offerings:
All Sport: Grades: 1-4. Each week a new sport will be played, encouraging children to play in a team, try a new sport, get exercise and have fun!

Northern Karate: Karate Classes for Grades JK-1 and 2-4; Karate is wonderful for self-esteem, confidence, discipline and exercise.

Creative Crafts: Grades 1-3: Lets kids use their imagination while working with a variety of different craft materials. All supplies and Equipment provided.

Paint it up: Grades 3-6: This creative activity gives participants the opportunity to choose from a variety of ceramic pieces that they will turn into creative masterpieces. Students may choose 4 projects to work on throughout the session. All painted projects will be fired and returned ready to use throughout your home!
Cost for 8 week Sessions:
All-Sport……………………$65…….. On Tuesdays
Northern Karate……….. $50 + HST = $56.50………… On Thursdays
Creative Crafts:………….$80………. On Wednesdays
Paint it up:…………………$90………. On Tuesdays

PLEASE ENSURE ALL CHEQUES ARE MADE OUT TO THE PROVIDER OF THE PROGRAM NOT TO BROWNRIDGE PUBLIC SCHOOL

You will be receiving registration forms by the end week of the week.

All registration need to be in by January 16th.

We encourage you to register as soon as possible! Since space is limited.

Programs that move forward will start the week of January 23rd.

Winter Concert – Rescheduled

Dear Families,

The Winter Concert has been rescheduled for Monday, December 19 at 7:00pm. Groups performing are:

  •  Gr. 1/2A (Mrs. Shapiro)
  • Gr. 3 (Ms. Braiantsis and Mrs. Koven)
  • Gr. 3/4 (Mrs. Jain, Ms. Cutler)
  • Gr. 5/6  (Mrs. Gardos, Ms. Large)
  • Junior Choir
  • Gr. 7/8  Guitar Ensemble

Students must arrive at 6:30pm and go directly to the gym. Students performing in the pre-concert show must arrive by 6:15pm.

Doors will  open at 6:50pm. Families can enjoy a pre-concert performance in the foyer beginning at 6:30pm while they wait.

Concert dress is white tops with black bottoms. Gr. 7/8 students wear all black.

Attention Parents Whose Children Take School Buses or Taxis

If your children typically take the bus in the morning or afternoon, we recommend you check any of the following stations in case the weather prevents the buses/taxis from operating on Friday December 16:

A bus cancellation message will also be available at 1-877-330-3001.

Please remember that if the school buses are cancelled in the morning, then they will NOT operate in the afternoon. Therefore, if you drive your children to school in the morning, you must also pick them up from school at 3:50 p.m. When buses are cancelled, it does not necessarily mean that schools are closed. Schools usually remain open with a modified program.

Winter Concert Tonight is CANCELLED

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions the York Region School Board has made the decision to cancel all evening activities including tonight’s concert.  A new date will be established as soon as possible and we will let you know.  School is remaining open until 3 pm and buses and taxis will be operating.
