Have a Safe and Fun Summer!

24 Jun

Message From Ms. Mida and Ms. McInnis:  It has been another successful and rewarding year! This could not have been accomplished without the help and support of many people. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers, EAs, secretaries, custodians, area support staff, parents and parent volunteers, and our amazing School Council who have made many positive contributions to our school community. It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye and best wishes to Ms. Allen, Mr. Anderson, Ms. Ayati, Ms. Bibassis, Mr. Caermare, Ms. Farano, Ms. Lovatsis, Mr. McKenzie, Ms. Panesar, Ms. Rosenberg, Ms. Tel and Ms. Vala-Fernandes.  We extend a big thank you to all our School Council who organized another great Fun Fair this year. Our silent auction, the food and the activities were definitely loads of fun!  We wish students, staff and families a safe, restful and enjoyable summer break.

To our Grade 8 Graduates:  Congratulations! On behalf of the Brownridge staff and school community, we wish you success in your educational journey as you move on to high school.

Moving: If you are planning a move and your child will not be returning to Brownridge PS in September, please notify the school office or send a note with your child as soon as possible. This information helps us to plan for the next school year.

First Day of School in September: Classes will resume this year on Tuesday, September 8th. ALL students will find out their class/teacher upon arrival Sept. 8. Kindergarten students will be met by their teacher in the kindergarten yard on the West side of the building. For Grade 1-8 students, teachers will be meeting students on the school grounds at the back of the school. Grade levels will be posted on the wall and teachers will be outside at 8:25 with their class lists. Please do not call the school office regarding class placements. This information will only be available on the first day of school.

Another Amazing Fun Fair – Thank you School Council!

16 Jun

It has been quite an eventful day at Brownridge! It started in the afternoon with students and staff celebrating Brownridge’s 25th anniversary with special presentations and cake. The celebration continued with the official opening of our new outdoor classroom and friendship garden. The day culminated with our annual Fun Fair. Families enjoyed BBQ, BOUNCE entertainment, bouncing castles, Evolve Skateboarding, candy jewerly making and many other fun games. Not to be left out, was our Silent Auction with an opportunity to put in a winning bid on dozens of items.

We would like to thank our amazing School Council who have devoted “hours” of their time to once again put on a fun fair for our community to  celebrate the ending of a successful school year. Their commitment to Brownridge is greatly appreciated by all. Also, thank you to our staff who supported our 25th anniversary celebration and the Fun Fair.

Help – We Need Bottle Caps

9 Jun

Our bottlecap art project for the school library is under construction. We still need many more coloured bottlecaps (no white). We need: blue, green yellow, red, orange, black, brown and any other unique colour.

It is a great way to recycle at home and at school.  A bin will be placed ( just outside the library).
